A good methodology reader has to follow a coherent structure. We will structure the reading into three main groups: situational reading, reading and reading film valuation.
With situational reading frames the story in a meaningful context. reading is used to analyze film as objectively as possible, images and sounds (apart from contextual factors such as intentions prior or subsequent statements by the authors). Finally, the valuation is to read a critical issue read about what that is, is judged from all points of view which had previously been detected and interpreted. In reading
audiovisual, film reading is the central point of this methodology and in turn distinguish three phases or dimensions: narrative reading, formal analysis and thematic reading. In reading
narrative is considered the film as history, as narrative. It discusses the various components of the entire story as the plot, narrative structure, characters, the environment ... At the stage of formal analysis examines the treatment given to history, from the style and formal resources used. Finally, thematic reading is to discover the theme of the film, understanding the concept of theme as ultimate intention of the authors (writer, director, producer ...), conscious or unconscious intention, or as the ultimate meaning of the work. Thematic reading also examines the effects of work on the viewer.
However, as desirable as the method, are intuition and sensitivity. Without intuition, for example, would be impossible to make the process of abstraction that is required to read subject. And sensitivity would be impossible to make a good formal analysis. Also from the principles of comprehensive approach, any process of analysis should always start with the verbalization of spontaneous reactions. ie the starting point should always be the feelings and impressions of all kinds has led the work.
